RYDANZ Tyres Power Geely Galaxy TT to a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ Title

In July 2026, the wet handling circle at the East China (Dongying) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Proving Ground became the stage for an extraordinary test of vehicle control, driver precision and tyre performance. Drivers Ye Zhicheng and Sheng Jiacheng piloted two Geely Galaxy TT battery-electric vehicles for more than 46 kilometres of uninterrupted drifting, earning the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the “Longest continuous twin vehicle drift on a wet surface (electric car).”

Both record-setting vehicles were equipped with RYDANZ tyres in size 245/40ZR19, with R23 fitted on the front axle and R02S fitted on the rear axle. Over the full distance, the tyres were exposed to a demanding combination of low-grip wet asphalt, repeated lateral loading, continuous slip, sustained friction and prolonged heat build-up—conditions that placed every part of the tyre setup under extreme real-world pressure.

Twin-vehicle drifting: distance depends on precision

A continuous twin-vehicle drift is far more than two cars sliding side by side. Throughout the attempt, both vehicles had to maintain closely matched speed, drift angle, line and separation. A sudden change in grip, an unstable transition or any loss of performance consistency could have ended the run.

The wet surface reduced available adhesion, while the immediate torque delivery of the electric powertrain demanded precise coordination between steering and throttle. The tyres therefore needed to provide predictable steering response at the front and controlled, repeatable breakaway at the rear, allowing both drivers to sustain a stable rhythm lap after lap.

R23 × R02S: a coordinated front-and-rear setup

For the record attempt, the R23 was fitted to the front axle, where clear steering feedback and dependable directional control were essential during constant corrections and high drift angles. The R02S was fitted to the rear axle, which remained in sustained slip while transferring power and absorbing repeated lateral loads.

Together, the two patterns supported the distinct demands of each axle and helped the Geely Galaxy TT vehicles maintain a consistent, controllable balance around the wet circle. From the opening metres to the completion of more than 46 kilometres, the RYDANZ setup remained an integral part of the record-breaking performance.

More than 46 km: sustained performance under real pressure

Continuous drifting is not a brief demonstration of peak grip. As distance builds, the tyres must manage heat generation, tread shear, changing lateral forces and repeated transitions between grip and slip. The longer the run, the greater the demand for consistency, durability and control.

The distance achieved by the Geely Galaxy TT also surpassed the previous 42.171-kilometre electric-car wet-drift benchmark set by Porsche, establishing a new milestone for electric-vehicle drifting. For RYDANZ, the achievement represents more than a world record: it is a direct validation conducted with production vehicles, professional drivers and uncompromising real-world conditions.
