Tsukuba, June 2026 – The 2026 D1 GRAND PRIX RD.3 & RD.4 at Tsukuba Circuit concluded with two action-packed rounds featuring high-speed tandem battles, precise car control, and intense competition at one of Japan’s most iconic drift venues.

During the weekend, SHIBATA Racing Team driver Koudai Sobagiri delivered another strong performance. In RD.3, Sobagiri claimed the Tanso victory with a precise and aggressive solo run, showing excellent line control, angle, and rhythm through Tsukuba’s demanding layout. In RD.4, he continued his momentum and secured 3rd place in Tsuiso, adding another podium finish to his weekend result.

For this round, Koudai Sobagiri competed on RYDANZ R23. Positioned for drift competition, R23 is designed to deliver controlled slip characteristics, stable feedback, and confident transition performance under high-angle entries and rapid weight transfer. At the D1GP level, tyres are continuously exposed to extreme heat buildup, repeated lateral impact, and sustained high-load drift conditions, where consistency becomes a decisive factor.

The event also highlighted the depth of competition at the top level of D1GP. Masashi Yokoi took the RD.3 Tsuiso victory, then went on to win both Tanso and Tsuiso in RD.4. Across both rounds, the Tsukuba stage delivered a highly competitive atmosphere shaped by speed, smoke, and close tandem battles.

On track, the SHIBATA Racing Team machine carried visible RYDANZ branding through thick tyre smoke, close chase battles, and high-angle transitions.
